Meet the Team
We think experience counts, and the LBA team has over 100 years cumulative experience in the industry. A short introduction to our staff is below:
Lior Avishay - President
Lior began his career with Mutual of Omaha in 1983 earning multiple industry awards in his 5 years as a career agent. Lior founded LBA Insurance Services in 1988. With over 25 years of employee benefits experience, Lior is highly respected throughout the industry. In addition, Lior serves on various Advisory Boards including the Blue Cross "Premier Agent" Advisory Board.
Cynthia Tropper Avishay - Co-Founder
Cynthia Tropper Avishay, Co-founder of LBA Insurance, graduated from UCLA with a degree in history in 1983. Cindy is Vice President and controller of LBA Insurance and oversees the HR and accounting departments. Cindy has vast experience in accounting and business management and provides vital leadership to our company.
Maggie Kirk - Office Manager / Account Manager
Maggie Kirk joined LBA Insurance in October 2011. Maggie has over 25 years experience in Accounting, Office Administration, Payroll and managing Employee Benefits / Human Resources. She has set up and established the Accounting Department for businesses and has excellent problem solving skills. Maggie is an account representative and is also responsible for day to day operations of LBA.
Cathy Marks – Account Manager
Cathy has over 20 years experience in the employee benefits field and customer service. Her past experience has given her the ability to relate well to clients and their needs, problem solve and pay attention to detail. Cathy is a very dedicated worker and valuable asset to our team.
Matt Kuznetsky - Individual & Group Sales Associate
Matt joined the LBA Insurance team in January 2011 after nearly 5 years of working for a major life insurance General Agency. He holds an active Life and Health license in California and brings to LBA several years of experience in agency administration, customer service and complex sales designs. Matt obtained his BA in Economics from UC Santa Barbara. He prides himself on his communication skills, tireless work ethic and ability to educate his clients.
Michael Avishay – Client Communications Director
Michael joined the LBA Insurance team in August 2012. He graduated from Reed College in Portland, Oregon with a degree in English in 2011. Michael is a dedicated worker and an integral part of the team.
Calin Doan - Director of Communications / Individual & Group Sales
Calin joined LBA Insurance in June 2014. He holds an active Life and Health license in California and brings several years of experience in healthcare sales, hospital billing, and customer service. He specializes in communicating to clients the knowledge they need to navigate Healthcare Reform and implementing complex group health plans. Calin obtained his BA in Psychology from San Diego State University.
Jessica Castillo - Account Manager
Jessica joined LBA as an Administrative Assistant in August 2015. She previously worked at Starbucks for 4 years and studied Child Development at Pierce College. Due to Jessica's hard work and dedication she recently transitioned into the role of Account Manager in January 2016. We are excited to welcome her and look forward to many years with us.
Rebecca McHaddad - Administrative Assistant
Rebecca joined LBA as an Administrative Assistant in August 2015. She previously worked at Starbucks and studied Business Management at Azusa Pacific University. Rebecca helps in customer support and administration specifically for small groups and individuals, with some experience in account managing. She looks forward to continuing the learning process over many more years apart of the LBA team.
